The old Hostess/Wonder Bread store on Bonney Road was vacated many years ago (I think). It then looked like it was being used as overflow parking for the nearby car dealership. But I guess it's finally being re-developed.

There aren't many good reasons to go to Bonney Road these days, but that Hostess outlet used to be the spot for your bulk Twinkie needs.

This month (January 2023) marks the 60th birthday of Virginia Beach (the independent city). 

I bascially inherited a 1983 issue of The Beacon honoring Virginia Beach's 20th birthday.. attached are some old ads from the print celebration.

This is an old, defunct spot.. from Bonney Road 1.0.. I think it was located where the extended stay hotel is at now.. I appreciate the hand-drawn art & lettering in it. Ironically I illustrated a couple ads for The Shopping News when I was a young guy, and The Shopping News' office was located on Bonney Road.
